Our Foolproof Valentine’s Day Weekend Plan!

We are going to help you be a total ROCKSTAR when you follow our foolproof three-day Valentine’s Day Weekend plan. With Valentine’s Day falling on a Sunday you have an extended opportunity to add a few little things to your plan and really wow your sweetie!

First, of course are the flowers! Typically, on Valentine’s Day, we are delivering thousands of arrangements to work places. What better way to show off how much you love your sweetie than to show off in front of their co-workers, right? But this year….Sunday. Ugh. Here’s the thing……..order now to have your flowers delivered on FRIDAY. They won’t expect it so you get to look like a total hero, they get to show off AND they will have no idea that those flowers are  just the first step.

Second, on Saturday, buy or make a special treat for breakfast or an afternoon tea/coffee break for your honey. Whatever you decide make sure it’s a surprise! How about making these chocolate croissants? All you need are three ingredients (two you probably already have!) and we guarantee they will be delighted.

Fresh baked chocolate croissants from our recipe that is part of our three day valentine's day weekend

– Take a package of puff pastry sheets – they are in the frozen section of the grocery store, usually by Pepperidge Farms – and let it sit out for about 1/2 an hour (or in the fridge for a few hours) until thawed but still cold (there are more specific instructions on the package).
– Preheat your oven to 400°.
– Cut the pastry into 12 squares or if you want to get really fancy, triangles. Place 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips (the minis work, too!) onto one end and roll them up inside the pastry.
– Place on a baking sheet (line with parchment paper if you have it or spray it with cooking spray or even a thin layer of butter). Beat one egg in a bowl and brush over the tops of the pastries (you can skip this step if you want to – it adds that shiny, bakery look).
– Bake for 12 – 15 minutes until puffed and golden brown.

NOTE: if your love isn’t a chocolate fan, you can use jam, almonds, even cheese for a savory croissant. This is mostly foolproof – you can SO do this!

Can you even imagine how thrilled they will be that you “made croissants”?!!?

Third, on Sunday, surprise them with brunch or dinner at their favorite spot or, if you are erring on the side of caution or just love being at home, get takeout. If you do eat at home, add some special touches like lighting even just one candle, get out the “nice” plates, put the flowers on the table and wait on your honey like you are hoping for a big tip!

  1. Just a short note of appreciation for the wonderful flower arrangement delivered to a patient at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital. My sister-in-law, Ruby, was happily surprised and thought they were beautiful. I ordered over the phone from New Brunswick, Canada, relying on the expertise of your people, and I was not disappointed.
    Thank you again
