Purchasing the perfect flowers for a wedding, funeral, prom or as a “just because” does NOT have to be intimidating. To help you have total confidence the next time you call us, we’ve put together these FIVE tips to make it very easy for you when it comes to ordering flowers!

  1. SHOP LOCAL – Shopping locally is always best! Besides supporting your local mom and pop businesses, you need to know that many on-line websites that are just middle men, offering you no extra value or support. These websites can be deceiving because they appear to be local but are really just order takers. They take their cut of the sale off the top of the total they charge you before sending your order out to a local florist. You will literally get more value for your money when you purchase directly from the local florist because the money they took from you can instead go right into the flowers we give you.Even if you are sending flowers to someone out of town or state, still contact your local florist. They can help you decide what you want and will send out your order. There may be a small processing fee but it’s a fraction of what the big order takers charge.

  2. HAVE SOME BASICS READY – You have contacted your local florist but you are unsure what exactly to order….. that’s okay! That’s why we are here! Being able to answer the following questions will help the florist advise you on what flower arrangement is right for you and determine how they can make it a reality for you.
    • What is the occasion? Is it a holiday, a birthday, an anniversary, get well soon, sympathy, etc.?
    • Do you or the recipient have any favorite colors or flowers?
    • What is your budget? When considering your budget remember there will likely be sales tax added on and if you want it delivered there will be a delivery fee. Also, keep in mind that the cost of flowers has increased since COVID. So, if you haven’t ordered flowers in a while, plan on budgeting a little extra. Finally, geographic location can impact pricing so having a range is helpful in case there are adjustments for that area.
  3. MENTION DESIGNER’S CHOICE – Once you have answered the above questions for your local florist and the specifics are nailed down, we encourage you to allow the designers to let their artistic skills shine through and create an arrangement just for you. Not only is this really fun for designers, it allows them the freedom to select just the right flowers that best meet your needs. We will confess that we love it when people call and order a “Designer’s Choice” because we know that we can use what we have in the shop at that moment that look the most beautiful together and can create something truly unique and special.
  4. BROWSE OUR WEBSITE  – Although designer’s choice arrangements are ideal, we understand that you may want to know exactly what your design is going to look like. That’s where our website comes in handy!  When browsing through a florist website you will see numerous flower arrangements, for any occasion or holiday. And the benefit to an online website is that it is open 24/7 and you can purchase your arrangement at any time at your convenience. Again be aware of those websites that are just order takers. Also know that your local florist may not have all the exact flowers shown in an arrangement on their website. In this instance, we professionals will substitute flowers we have that are in the best condition and look beautiful in the style you choose. If you want exactly what you see in the photo, it’s best to give us a call.
